Why an Aston Martin is the (Potentially) Perfect Everyday Super Car

Recently, like a few Opponauts, I read Doug Demuro's column about his Ferrari and the many pitfalls of DDing it for a week. I got to thinking, what would be the best super car to drive everyday? After 2 whole minutes of brainstorming I arrived at the conclusion that it is an Aston Martin.

Any works, but I'm partial to the V8 Vantage.

Think of the possibilities! It is no less practical than a Camaro (It even has back seats! albeit a little small). It attracts about as much attention as a Ford Fusion, at least according to RCR when they tested one, so you don't have to worry as much where you park it. The V8 Vantage halfway decent gas mileage (14-21), and is extraordinarily comfortable. I don't know about maintenance but it can't be that bad.

What else would make a perfect everyday super car?

WHAT WILL DOUG DRIVE NEXT?

*Still scrapes on every single bump.

*Still draws a ton of attention. Trust me.

*Still would make you nervous in heavy traffic or left unattended in a lot.

*Maintenance and reliability are as bad as any other supercar.

I thought of that, and I classify GT cars with super cars, including the California, Continental, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong. I hate arguing on the Internet.

I really hate smashing people's dreams but V8 Vantages are not that awesome. Cheap, yes, but the performance was not there. It looks great, sounds even better, but can not hang with more recent offerings. It never inspired confidence, especially on back roads where it would move laterally over cracks in the pavement and generally leave you wondering who the hell signed off on handling so shitty.

It's also not that comfortable, at all. I could never get the seat just right, and there wasn't much cushioning.

Nissan GT-R or 911 Turbo ar the best "everyday" super cars, in my opinion.

I think the real choice would be the Vantage GT.

Thats because the V8 Vantage was released in 2006. Close to 9 years now. I wouldn't be surprised that it "can not hang with more recent offerings".

It couldn't hang with recent offerings in 2007 either.

It wasn't far behind. It was respectable in 07 still. 2009ish however...
